Current Affairs

Over the years, I’ve recorded in a wide range of environments, from jungles, deserts and mountains to helicopters, hot air balloons and at sea, as well as the much more familiar surroundings of people’s homes and everyday lives.

Capturing the best possible sound for a production often involves listening carefully and working calmly around the people and circumstances involved.

I’ve had the privilege of working with many different people and production teams over the course of my career. From large-scale productions to smaller, more personal shoots, becoming part of a team and adapting to the people and circumstances around me has been an important part of the work. I believe good location sound is about more than equipment. It requires awareness, patience and an ability to anticipate what is happening around you, while remaining unobtrusive and dependable when it matters.

REPRESENTATION & EQUIPMENT

I’m represented by Linkline Diary Service, an established UK crewing agency with a long history within the film and television industry. I have an extensive location sound setup and can provide additional equipment as required for different productions and working environments.

A LASTING FASCINATION

After 26 years, I still find sound endlessly fascinating. Whether recording a conversation in someone’s home or working in a completely unfamiliar environment, there is something rewarding about paying close attention to what is happening and making sure it is captured properly.

That, ultimately, is what I enjoy about the job: listening, being part of the process and helping a production tell its story through sound.
